Every kind of note
Quick notes, checklists, code with syntax highlighting, images, documents and PIN-locked secrets. Just drag files onto the sidebar or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.
Notiq is a sticky-notes sidebar for Windows that hides at the edge of your screen and slides out the moment you need it. Notes, checklists, reminders and today's calendar — without taking up a single pixel of your desktop.
Park your cursor on the thin blue strip for a moment and the sidebar slides out.
Open or close Notiq from any app with Ctrl+Shift+S.
Tap the Notiq icon next to the clock. It tucks itself away when you're done.
Capture anything, get reminded at the right moment, and see your whole day — all from a sidebar that stays out of your way.
Quick notes, checklists, code with syntax highlighting, images, documents and PIN-locked secrets. Just drag files onto the sidebar or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.
Alerts stay until you answer them, come back if hidden, and survive restarts.
Connect Google, Outlook or Apple calendars. The Today panel shows meetings next to notes that are due.
Encrypted with Windows protected storage. Your PIN is never stored, and secret notes re-lock every time the sidebar hides.
Hit record, run your meeting, and get back a note with a summary, action items, decisions and reminders — ready to review and save.

Timed work sessions, a smart priority list, gentle nudges and an end-of-day summary. No AI required.
Speak a note and Notiq turns it into one. Lists become checklists, and times become reminders. Push-to-Talk with Ctrl+Alt+Space.
Categories, colors and priorities keep things tidy. Ctrl+F searches notes, checklist items, code and file names as you type.
A chat that knows your notes and, if connected, your calendar for the coming 7 days. Ask what's overdue, plan your morning, or have it create checklists and reminders for you.
Your notes live only on your PC. Notiq has no servers and doesn't collect usage data. Here's every single thing it ever sends over the internet — and only when you use those features.
| When | What is sent | Sent to |
|---|---|---|
| You ask the AI a question | Your question, the chat so far, relevant notes, next week's events | Your chosen AI provider |
| You use a note's AI action | That note's content | Your chosen AI provider |
| You record a voice note or meeting | The audio | OpenAI |
| Voice responses with OpenAI Nova | The reply text | OpenAI |
| Every 15 min, if calendars are connected | A request to download your calendar | Your calendar provider |
Using Ollama? Then AI questions never leave your PC at all.

Sees the coming week, finds overdue tasks reliably, and shows notes as clickable chips.

Alerts stay until answered, survive restarts, and have a snooze menu.
A new purple button that's easy to find.
The essentials, from anywhere in Windows.
Notiq is a sticky-notes sidebar for Windows that hides at the edge of your screen and slides out when you need it. It keeps your notes, checklists, reminders and today's calendar one mouse movement away, without taking up space on your desktop.
No. Notes, checklists, reminders, due dates and Focus Mode work offline with no account. You only need the internet for the optional AI assistant, voice features and calendar sync.
Not yet. Notiq is currently available for Windows only.
The top corner of the screen and the taskbar never open Notiq, so window close buttons are safe. Notiq also waits until your mouse rests on the edge for 0.3 seconds, so quickly passing over it does nothing. If it still opens too easily, raise Settings → Open delay (up to 3 seconds).
Yes to both. Click the pin icon in the header to keep it open. To switch sides, drag the sidebar to the other edge and it snaps into place, or choose Left or Right in Settings → Sidebar side.
The Today panel shows what's scheduled today: meetings, due notes and reminders. Focus Mode helps you work through it: a timer for deep work, nudges, and summaries of your progress. Focus Mode is off by default — turn it on in Settings → Focus Mode.
Run the installer — Notiq installs in a few seconds with no options to choose, then starts automatically and opens a 1-minute welcome tour. It installs for your Windows user only, so you don't need administrator rights.
This SmartScreen message appears for apps that are new or not yet widely downloaded. Click More info, then Run anyway. Only do this if you downloaded Notiq from the official website.
Open Settings (gear icon) and turn on Start with Windows. This is also what keeps your reminders working, since Notiq must be running to alert you.
Download the new installer and run it. It replaces the old version and keeps all your notes, settings, calendars and API keys. You don't need to uninstall first.
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Notiq, click ⋯ and choose Uninstall. Notiq asks whether to also delete your notes and settings — No (the default) keeps them for a future reinstall; Yes removes everything and cannot be undone. Meeting recordings in Documents\Notiq are never deleted.
You set a 4-digit PIN and the note's content stays hidden until you enter it. Content is encrypted with your Windows account's protected storage, and the PIN itself is never stored — only a secure fingerprint of it. After 5 wrong attempts Notiq makes you wait, and secret notes re-lock whenever the sidebar hides.
No. Notiq can't read a secret note without its PIN, and neither can anyone else. Choose a PIN you will remember.
A reminder is a moment in time: Notiq slides out and alerts you. A due date is a deadline day: the note shows a Tomorrow, Today or Overdue badge and appears in the Today panel, but there's no alert.
Notiq slides out and shows the note with three choices: Got it! clears the reminder, Snooze lets you choose 5 min, 15 min, 1 hour or Tomorrow (9:00 AM), and Start focus session clears it and starts a 25-minute focus timer.
That's on purpose, so you don't miss it. The alert keeps the sidebar open until you answer it. If you hide the sidebar without answering, Notiq slides out again after about a minute — and an unanswered reminder is shown again after a restart. Click Got it! or Snooze to stop it.
No. Notiq must be running to alert you, so turn on Settings → Start with Windows. A reminder that came due while Notiq was closed is shown as soon as Notiq starts.
Marking a note done (✓) moves it to the archive — it isn't deleted. Click the box icon in the header to open the archive, then click Restore.
Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud, and any other calendar that offers an ICS (iCal) link. You can add as many as you like, each with its own color. Notiq only reads your calendar — it can't create, change or delete events.
Notiq checks the link right away and tells you how many events it found.
Open Google Calendar on the web → gear icon → Settings. Under Settings for my calendars, click your calendar, scroll to Integrate calendar and copy Secret address in iCal format. Don't use the public address — it only works if your whole calendar is public. If the secret address is missing, your Google Workspace admin has turned it off.
Outlook: Outlook on the web → Settings → Calendar → Shared calendars → Publish a calendar, choose Can view all details, Publish, and copy the ICS link.
Apple: in iCloud Calendar, click the share icon next to the calendar, turn on Public Calendar and copy the webcal:// link. It isn't listed or searchable anywhere.
Yes. Notiq stores the link encrypted on your PC and only uses it to read your events. Treat the link like a password, though — if it leaks, reset it in your calendar's settings and add the new link to Notiq.
Every 15 minutes, so a new meeting can take up to 15 minutes to appear.
The AI is optional and you bring your own key from an AI provider, paying them directly for what you use — typically a few cents a month for everyday notes questions. Everything else in Notiq works without AI.
Set it up in Settings → AI Assistant, paste your key and click Test.
When you ask a question, Notiq sends your question, the conversation so far, the notes most relevant to your question, and your calendar events for the coming week to the provider you chose. Secret notes, images and files are never sent. With Ollama, nothing leaves your PC.
Your key is encrypted on your PC and only sent to the provider it belongs to. It's never included in backups.
A microphone and an OpenAI API key, because speech is turned into text by OpenAI. If your main provider is Anthropic, Gemini or Ollama, add an OpenAI key in Settings → AI Assistant → OpenAI key for voice features.
Meeting Mode records a meeting through your microphone and turns it into a note with a summary, action items, decisions and reminders. Start it with the red-dot Meeting button in the AI panel. If the summary fails, the audio is kept in Documents\Notiq\Meeting recordings so nothing is lost. Always tell participants you are recording.
Only on your PC, in %APPDATA%\Notiq. Notiq has no cloud account and no servers, so your notes never leave your computer unless you use the AI assistant or export a backup.
Open Settings → Backup & Export and click Export backup. The file contains all notes (including archived ones, images and files), plus your categories and settings. API keys are never included, and secret notes are left out unless you tick Include secret notes.
Open Settings → Backup & Export → Restore backup… and choose the file. Restoring adds missing notes and never overwrites or deletes the notes you have, so it's safe to restore more than once.
Yes. Settings → Backup & Export → Export as Markdown saves your notes as a text document you can open in any editor. Images, files and secret notes aren't included.
No. Notiq doesn't collect usage data. The only things it sends over the internet are the ones listed in the privacy table above, and only when you use those features.
No questions match that search. Try another word, or contact support.
Notiq is coming to the Microsoft Store. Free up your screen and let your notes slide in only when you need them.
